Setup Guides for Every IPTV Device

Each of these IPTV devices has its own guide, with step-by-step setup, the best settings and quick fixes.

Fire TV Stick

  • Setup: Easy
  • App: Android-based IPTV player app
  • 4K: Yes, on 4K models

The Fire TV Stick is the most popular way our customers watch, and it is easy to see why. It plugs into any HDMI port, turns an ordinary TV into a smart one and runs IPTV player apps smoothly. The 4K and 4K Max models handle 4K streams where they are available, while the HD and Lite models are great for HD.

You install the player app we recommend, enter your login details and start watching. If you are buying a device just for IPTV, this is usually the one we suggest.

Android TV & Google TV

  • Setup: Easy
  • App: IPTV player app from Google Play
  • 4K: Yes, on most models

Android TV and Google TV are a natural fit for IPTV. That includes Google TV streaming devices, Android TV boxes and TVs from brands like Sony, TCL and Hisense that run Google TV built in.

Because these devices use the Google Play store, installing the player app takes about a minute. Most models support 4K, and boxes with an ethernet port give you the steadiest picture of all. For a big living room screen, it is hard to beat.

Samsung & LG Smart TVs

  • Setup: Medium
  • App: Player app from the Samsung or LG app store
  • 4K: Yes, on 4K sets

Samsung and LG smart TVs from 2018 onward can run IPTV without any extra device. You download a player app from the TV’s own app store, then add your login details.

Some smart TV apps ask you to activate them with a device ID shown on screen. That sounds technical, but you just send us a photo of that screen and we handle the rest. Setup takes a few more steps than a streaming stick, which is why we rate it Medium. Older TVs may lack a good app.

Apple TV, iPhone & iPad

  • Setup: Easy
  • App: IPTV player app from the App Store
  • 4K: Yes, on Apple TV 4K

Apple TV, iPhone and iPad all work well with Plex IPTV. You find the player app we recommend in the App Store, sign in with your login details and you are ready to go.

Apple TV 4K plays 4K streams where they are available and feels fast and polished in daily use. On iPhone and iPad, it is a handy way to keep watching in the kitchen, the backyard or on a trip, over Wi-Fi or mobile data. Remember that each plan covers one device at a time.

Android Phones & Tablets

  • Setup: Easy
  • App: IPTV player app from Google Play
  • 4K: Depends on screen

Any recent Android phone or tablet can run Plex IPTV. Download the player app from Google Play, enter your login details and the program guide loads right on your screen.

Tablets make a great second screen in the kitchen or a kid’s room, and phones are ideal when you are away from home. If you watch on mobile data, keep an eye on your data allowance, since HD video uses roughly 2 to 3 GB an hour. Setup is about as easy as it gets.

Windows & Mac Computers

  • Setup: Easy
  • App: Desktop IPTV player app
  • 4K: Yes, with a 4K display

Windows PCs, laptops, Macs and MacBooks all work with Plex IPTV through a desktop player app. It is a good option for a home office, a dorm room or anyone who likes to watch at their desk.

Install the app we recommend, add your login details and you can watch in a window or full screen. A wired connection gives the most stable picture. If your computer is connected to a 4K monitor or TV, you can enjoy 4K where it is available.

MAG & Formuler Boxes

  • Setup: Medium
  • App: Built-in portal (MAG) or built-in player (Formuler)
  • 4K: Yes, on 4K models

MAG and Formuler boxes are made for IPTV, so they come with the player already built in. Instead of installing an app, you add a portal address in the settings and register the box’s MAC address, which is printed on a sticker underneath.

Send us that address and we set things up on our side. Formuler boxes are powerful and include a strong program guide. MAG boxes are simple and reliable. Both rate Medium for setup because of the extra settings, but we guide you through every one.
