Samsung smart TVs run their own system, called Tizen, with their own app store. Watching IPTV on Samsung Smart TV models from 2018 onward works well, with no extra device plugged in.
There is one step that surprises people: many TV player apps ask you to activate them with a code shown on the screen. It sounds technical, but you simply send us a photo and we take it from there.
Allow 10 to 15 minutes, mostly waiting for us to confirm activation.
Because Samsung TVs cannot install apps from outside their store, IPTV player apps on Tizen work a little differently. Many tie your login to the TV’s unique device ID instead of a typed password. That is why we ask for the photo.
A few TV player apps also charge their own small activation fee after a short period. That fee goes to the app maker, not to us, and it is separate from your Plex IPTV plan. We always tell you up front if the app we recommend has one.
Samsung TVs from before 2018 often lack a good IPTV player in their store. You do not need a new TV. A low-cost Fire TV Stick or Google TV device plugs into a spare HDMI port and gives you a faster, more up-to-date experience. Our guide to IPTV on an old TV covers it step by step.
App availability varies by country and model year. Tell us your model number (Settings > Support > About This TV) and we will suggest one that works.
Hold the power button on your remote until the TV restarts. This fully reboots it, which a normal power-off does not.
Turn off Auto Motion Plus under Picture > Expert Settings > Picture Clarity.
