Apple TV is one of the nicest ways to watch live TV. Setting up IPTV on Apple TV takes a few minutes, the remote is pleasant to use, and the box stays fast for years.
Everything you need comes from the App Store, and if you own an iPhone, you can type your login details on the phone instead of the TV screen.
About five minutes from start to finish.
The current Apple TV 4K is excellent for IPTV. It comes in two versions: the 64 GB model connects over Wi-Fi only, while the 128 GB model adds an ethernet port. If your router is near the TV, the 128 GB model is worth the small extra cost.
The older Apple TV HD still works well on HD screens. It is slower to load a large program guide, but once it is up, live TV plays smoothly.
Apple TV has two settings that make live TV look noticeably better. Find them under Settings > Video and Audio > Match Content:
Make sure the iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi and signed in with the same Apple ID, or open Control Center and use the Apple TV Remote.
Turn on Match Dynamic Range. Your Apple TV was probably forcing HDR on non-HDR video.
Double-press the TV button, swipe the app away, and reopen it. If it keeps happening, restart from Settings > System > Restart.
