Ask a room of long-time cord-cutters which box they use, and the NVIDIA Shield comes up again and again. Watching IPTV on NVIDIA Shield means a fast program guide, a gigabit network port and some of the best picture processing you can buy.
Both models, the slim Shield TV and the larger Shield TV Pro, run Android TV with the Google Play store, so setup is quick and familiar.
If you have set up any Android TV device before, this will feel familiar.
For IPTV alone, the standard Shield TV is plenty. It has 2 GB of memory, a microSD slot for extra storage and the same gigabit port as the Pro. The Shield TV Pro adds more memory, more storage and two USB ports, which is handy for storage drives or a keyboard.
Both support AI upscaling, which sharpens HD video on a 4K screen. You will find it under Display & Sound > AI-enhanced upscaling. Try the demo mode to see the difference side by side.
The Shield gives you more control than most boxes. These four settings make the biggest difference:
That is the TV switching frame rate. It lasts a second and means Match content frame rate is working. Turn it off if it bothers you.
Lower AI upscaling to Low or Medium, or turn it off for that app.
Check the cable and router port, then restart both. If it continues, message us and we will check the stream on our side.
